The 5k Fall Color Run is a five-kilometer, untimed event. Color Runners are covered from head to toe in fall colored powder. Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race plastered in fall color.
Once the run is over, the fun continues at the Finish Line with a massive color throw.
Color Runners vary in demographics and reasons for running. With no winners or official times, The 5k Fall Color Run caters to everyone—first time runners to seasoned athletes. The Color Run is a great opportunity to live a more active lifestyle, on top of having fun!
We want to create a less stressful, untimed running environment that is more about health and happiness than competition. We hope that The 5k Fall Color Run can act as a catalyst to inspire continual healthy living.
The Color Run is an untimed event. For anyone who wants a finish time, we suggest self-timing.
Registration includes a 2024 5k Fall Color Run Shirt, color band and color packet!
We have showers available on site for post-run cleaning. With a good dusting off, you won’t be 100% clean, but you’ll be good for the drive home. It’ll be fun to see people still colorful around town at The Hands and Harvest Festival, It’s like a badge of honor!
Our color powder used is non-toxic and free of any heavy metals. The bright colors are a combination of cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C (food-safe) dyes. Some Color Runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouths. Our volunteer Color Throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by.
The color mostly washes out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. It’s best to wear items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful. We encourage you to wear your new 5k Fall Color Run shirt!
There are many great 5ks out there that test speed and performance. However, The 5k Fall Color Run is a non-competitive and untimed 5k filled with color that you can experience with friends and family. You’re free to run, jog, walk, or cartwheel along the course!
